Our tea and coffee arrived at 6.15 this morning. We watched the sun rising over the Zambezi whilst waking up. We met our guide, Tony, at 7 for a last cup of tea before heading off in the Land Rover for our bush walk.
We saw elephants on the way. Once parked up, Tony grabbed his rifle and we were off hiking in the bush. We made our way up a local mountain towards a natural spring. After an hour we stopped and took in the views of the Zambezi and the bush land below us. We sat listening to the silence for a while and watching some small cuddly animals on a near by rock.
We headed back down to where our chef was cooking a full English breakfast for us. The smell of the bacon wafted towards us over the cool breeze. We arrived to the noise of sizzling food and soon sat down for eggs, bacon, local sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes. It’s the largest kitchen we have ever seen and certainly a unique place for a stunning breakfast.
We drove back to the lodge, pausing for baboons, elephants, elk and impala.

But was the breakfast as good as our survival boat breaky??? I don't think so!
