Greece - 29th Aug 2008 - Day 13

Today's agenda? Head to Sivota! The additional challenge from the lead crew? Create an inventive cocktail which they would judge that evening. They also asked us to create a devise that would allow an egg to be dropped from the top of a mast without breaking.

Jon and Jane made breakfast this morning, eggs and bacon & Harrods Tea. Lovely!!

The days sailing was very relaxed with good wind but not too much sailing involved as the distance between points was not far.

We had yet another good lunch stop with the famous tuna, tomatoes and bread followed by some snorkeling and swimming.

The wind continued to increase during late afternoon and Jon and Jane headed into the port. John and Fiona stayed out for about another hour making the most of the strong winds. At one time we had reefed the sails in but then returned to full sails at the very end.

What a wonderful days sailing!!

That evening we moored our yachts directly onto the quay, opposite some lovely tavernas. We quickly prepared our cocktail, called "Babs on the beach", and headed off to the local bar for the competition. Our plan had been to allow the egg to drop onto a hammock, but this was not allowed!!

After much supping of cocktails the judges gave John and Fiona's efforts a third place. Jon and Jane's came nowhere!!!! However, revenge was to be sweet for Jon and Jane as their egg remained in tact when dropped from the mast!! Three couples eggs survived, so it was time for the knock out rounds.

This culminated in Jon plus Rob having to run with a 1 euro coin in their buttock cheeks to a glass and then to drop the coin in the glass.

Jon managed this on his second attempt and won the event buttocks down!! Robs excuse for coming second was that he was in shock having wrapped one of his ropes around the propeller and then hitting some rocks!!

John, Fiona, Jon, Jane, Steve and Kathy had a great meal directly opposite our yachts (how cool is that).

We finished off with some drinks, a good chat and then off to bed.
